The Other Export Types

The Spend, Summary and POP exports, which question each one answers, and when to run them.

Written by Zachary Cuva

The export panel has more than units and media plans. Three further types cover reporting rather than planning, and each answers a question the other exports do not.

Answers

Spend

How spend breaks down by month. The one finance and reconciliation usually want.

Summary

The campaign at a glance, without unit-level detail. Good for a status update.

POP

Proof of performance — the photographic evidence your creative ran. Usually the last deliverable on a campaign.

Each is a tab in the same Export panel, alongside Units and Media Plan.

Choosing The Right One

  • A client asking "what are we buying?" wants the media plan.

  • A client asking "what did we spend, and when?" wants Spend.

  • A client asking "did it actually run?" wants POP.

  • Anyone who wants to do their own analysis wants the units export.

POP Exports And Timing

A POP export is only as complete as the proof collected so far, so running one mid-flight gives you a partial picture.

If POP is missing for units you expect it on, chase it before exporting rather than sending an incomplete report. Missing proof can be requested from the media owner.

*Note: Not every export type appears for every account. If a tab is missing, your account does not have it rather than something being broken.
