How To Remove Units From Your Plan

Remove units in bulk from the map, clear out incomplete listings, and what to check before you do.

Written by Zachary Cuva

Removing takes units off the campaign entirely. It is how you get from a broad initial match to a plan you would actually put in front of a client.

Removal is not reversible from the map, so it is worth narrowing carefully before you act.

Removing In Bulk From The Map

  1. Filter to the units you want gone.

  2. Draw a shape around them.

  3. Check the unit count at the top of the panel.

  4. Under Remove, click Remove Units.

That unit count is your only confirmation of what you are about to remove. Read it every time.

Clearing Out Incomplete Units

The Tools menu can remove units by what they are missing, which is the quickest way to raise the quality of a plan before sharing it.

Option

Removes units with no

Units Without Price

Price, so they cannot be costed.

Units Without Rate Card

Rate card price, so no discount can be shown.

Units Without Picture

Photo. These look poor in a client-facing plan.

Units Without Impressions

Impressions data, so they cannot be given a CPM.

All Units With Missing Info

Any of the above, in one action.

*Note: Missing data does not mean a bad site. A strong location may simply have an incomplete listing, and its price or impressions can often be obtained by requesting availability. Sort by Health Score: low to high and look before you clear.

Before You Remove

Two things worth considering:

  • Filter instead, if you only want them out of the way. Exclude toggles and tags hide units without deleting them, and a unit you removed by mistake has to be found and added back manually.

  • Check what you have secured. Removing a unit you hold gives up that hold, and the inventory returns to the pool for other buyers.

The campaign's activity log records changes made to it, which is the place to look if you need to establish what was removed and when.
