If your locations already exist in a spreadsheet, importing the file is far quicker than searching for each one. This is the right approach for a full store list or a long competitor set.
Where To Find It
Open the POIs step.
Click Import from file.
The panel changes to Import POIs from file. Use Back at the top to return without importing.
The Two Accepted Formats
Your file needs one of these two header sets. Both are accepted, so use whichever matches the data you already have.
Format | Headers | Use when |
Format 1 | Name, address, city, state, zip | You have street addresses. AdQuick geocodes them for you. |
Format 2 | Name, latitude, longitude | You already have coordinates. More precise, since nothing has to be looked up. |
Each format has an Example Template link next to it. Download the template and paste your data into it rather than building a file from scratch — it is the fastest way to get the headers right.
Uploading Your File
Drag your file into the upload area, or click it to browse.
Click Save.
Supported file types are CSV, XLS and XLSX, so you can upload an Excel file directly without converting it first.
Cancel clears your selected file if you picked the wrong one.
If Places Do Not Appear
Check these first:
Your headers match one of the two formats exactly. Mixing them — an address and coordinates in the same file — is the most common cause of a failed import.
Every row has a name. Rows without one cannot be shown as a marker.
Addresses are complete enough to be found. A street with no city or state often cannot be resolved.
*Note: If an address will not resolve, look up its coordinates and re-import that row using Format 2. Coordinates are never ambiguous.
