How To Review And Create Your Campaign

What to check in the Campaign Overview panel before you click Create Campaign, and what happens afterwards.

Written by Zachary Cuva

Creating the campaign is the point at which your draft becomes real and, if you have media owners on it, requests go out. This article covers what to check first and what happens when you click the button.

Reviewing Your Plan

The Campaign Overview panel in the bottom-right summarises every choice you have made — advertiser, dates, budget, locations, formats and POIs — so you can check the whole campaign without reopening each step.

Read the three figures at the bottom together rather than individually:

  • Matched Units — how much inventory fits your criteria. A very low number means your criteria are too tight; a very high one means you have not narrowed enough yet.

  • Est. CPM — compare it against what you normally pay. Well above suggests premium formats dominating your plan.

  • Est. Impressions — sense-check it against your budget and duration.

*Note: These are estimates from currently available inventory. Nothing is reserved, and final delivery depends on which units you actually book.

Fixing Anything Incomplete

Steps with a problem are flagged in the list on the left, and the panel for that step explains what is wrong. These four have to be valid before you can continue:

  1. Advertiser

  2. Dates

  3. Locations

  4. Formats

Your campaign also needs a name. Click the placeholder at the top of the page to set one.

Creating The Campaign

Click Create Campaign at the bottom of the Campaign Overview panel.

If you have media owners included, you are shown exactly which ones will receive a request and asked to confirm. Nothing has been sent at this stage — you can still go back and change the list.

From that confirmation you can either send the requests, or create the campaign without sending them.

What Happens Afterwards

You land on the campaign's Plan, where its units are shown on a map you can filter, tag and organise. The Draft badge disappears and the campaign appears on your Campaigns page as a live campaign.

If requests went out, media owners respond with availability against the due date you set on the Dates step.

Changing It Later

A created campaign stays editable. Changes are gathered as a set and applied together, so you get to review exactly what will change — including any units that would be removed — before committing to it.

That means creating the campaign is not a point of no return. It is safer to create it and refine than to hold a draft open indefinitely, because a draft sends nothing and holds no inventory.
