A hold reserves inventory while you finish approvals, so a competing advertiser can't book your units out from under you mid-decision. Here's how the mechanics work.

Ask your AdQuick team to hold the units in your plan (or the subset you're serious about). The hold is registered with each media owner, taking those units off the market for your dates during the hold period.

A hold is normally placed for two business days to start, and most get extended while approvals run, so the working life of a hold averages closer to a week. Treat both as norms rather than entitlements. A hold is an agreement with each media owner rather than a timer the platform enforces, so the real window depends on the owner and on how contested the inventory is; high-demand units hold for shorter. Your AdQuick team confirms the position on each held unit, so ask rather than assume.

Often, once, if the inventory isn't contested. If another advertiser wants held units, the media owner may issue a challenge requiring you to contract or release. Extensions are requested through your AdQuick contact; ask before expiration, not after.

The units return to open availability. Rates can also change between an expired hold and a rebooking. If internal approvals are dragging, tell your AdQuick team; managing extensions and prioritizing which units genuinely need holding is a normal part of the workflow.

The hold converts: contract is issued against the held units at the held terms, and signature completes the booking. This is the smoothest path from decision to secured inventory, which is the whole point of holding.

Hold early on must-have units (specific locations, event-adjacent inventory) even while the broader plan is in flux. Commodity inventory with deep supply rarely needs holding; irreplaceable units always do.
