The radius is how far from each point of interest you are willing to consider inventory. It applies to every POI on the campaign, not to each one individually.
Setting The Radius
Open the POIs step.
Click the radius control at the top of the panel.
Drag the slider under POI Radius (Miles) to the distance you want.
The radius can be set anywhere from a tenth of a mile up to 50 miles. It saves as soon as you release the slider, and the circles drawn around your POIs on the map resize to match.
Choosing A Sensible Distance
Roughly | Suits |
Under 1 mile | Dense urban areas, or driving footfall to a specific door. |
1 to 5 miles | Most retail trade areas. A reasonable starting point. |
10 miles and above | Suburban and rural catchments, where people routinely drive further. |
*Note: A wide radius around many POIs in the same city will overlap into most of that market, at which point the POIs are no longer narrowing anything. If your radius circles have merged into one shape on the map, either reduce the radius or drop some POIs.
The Radius On Its Own Does Nothing
Setting a radius draws the circles, but it does not restrict your inventory until you switch on unit filtering with the Filter Units toggle beside it.
Until then your POIs and their radius are reference points on the map, and your plan still includes every unit that matches your dates, locations and formats.
