There is no upload slot for brand lift creative in the platform today, so it comes over separately. The survey shows respondents the actual asset, so it needs the exact file.
Why the survey needs the asset
The survey shows the creative and then asks about recall. That is how the exposed and control groups get separated. Without the exact asset the respondent saw, there is nothing to recall and no way to split the sample.
Which is why an approximation will not do. It has to be the creative that actually ran.
What to send, and when
The final asset as it ran, one per creative and per market if they differ. Email is fine. Send it with the brief rather than after it, since the brief is due at least a week before launch.
Why it is not in the platform yet
It should be an upload field next to everything else you enter for the study, and today it is not. If you have uploaded creative elsewhere in the platform it is reasonable to assume the survey can reach it, and it cannot: that is a different asset pipeline.
Until that changes, sending the file over separately is the workaround. We would rather tell you up front than have you discover it when the brief is already late.
Digital units and creative-level reporting
If you ran multiple creatives on digital units and want results split by creative, that requires the operator's play logs to establish when each asset was on screen. It is available with vendors who supply logs and unavailable with those who do not.
For brand lift specifically, the survey measures recall of a creative rather than exposure to a unit, so running multiple creatives in one study means being deliberate about which asset the survey shows.
Common misconceptions
Myth: The entire brand lift setup can be completed in the platform.
Reality: Everything except the creative. That one step is manual today.
